Spiralized French Onion Soup

Traditional French Onion Soup made easier by using spiralized onions!

  • 3 Large Yellow Onions Spiralized
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 64 oz Broth I used low sodium beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • French Bread
  • Gruyere cheese shredded to taste


  1. In a large non-stick pan, cook onions with olive oil and brown sugar over medium heat until onions are translucent and carmelized (depending on the size of your pan - this step may need to be done in batches)
  2. Add Onions to slow cooker along with the rest of the ingredients (except the bread and cheese)
  3. Cook on high for 6-8 hours
  4. Discard Bay Leaf
  5. Slice and toast french bread
  6. Ladle the soup into oven safe bowls. Top with toasted bread and shredded cheese
  7. Broil until cheese is melted and browned (2-3 minutes)
